The City of La Mirada is once again celebrating community pride with its annual Spring Beautification Program, recognizing homeowners who help preserve the beauty and charm of local neighborhoods.

Volunteer judges will canvas residential areas throughout the city from March 30 through April 10, searching for properties that demonstrate exceptional landscaping, curb appeal, and exterior maintenance. The program highlights the many residents who take pride in maintaining welcoming and attractive homes throughout the community.

Residents hoping to be recognized are encouraged to take a few simple steps to prepare their homes for judging. Helpful tips include:

  • Store trash cans and waste containers out of public view
  • Maintain landscaping with adequate ground coverage
  • Ensure roofs are in good condition
  • Remove holiday lights and seasonal decorations
  • Park vehicles properly and ensure they are operable
  • Repair chipped or peeling paint or plaster on structures

In addition to recognizing well-maintained homes, the program also highlights La Mirada’s “Most Improved” properties. Homeowners who have completed major improvements or front-yard landscaping renovations within the past year are encouraged to apply.

Applications for the Most Improved Property recognition are being accepted through Friday, April 10. Forms are available at La Mirada City Hall, the Resource Center, and the Activity Center. Applicants must include a description of the improvements completed in the past year along with before-and-after photos.

Selected homeowners will be honored during a special Spring Beautification Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Residents interested in learning more about the program or applying for the Most Improved recognition can visit: 🔗 https://cityoflamirada.org

For additional information, contact the City’s Community Services Department at (562) 943-7277.
