The La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, in partnership with McCoy Rigby Entertainment, has unveiled its highly anticipated 2026–2027 season, promising a dynamic lineup of beloved musicals and classic storytelling that will once again position the venue as a cultural cornerstone of the community.
The newly announced season features five major productions, each offering a distinct theatrical experience:
- Little Shop of Horrors (September 18 – October 11, 2026)
- Dear Evan Hansen (October 30 – November 22, 2026)
- To Kill a Mockingbird (February 5 – February 28, 2027)
- Hairspray (April 2 – April 25, 2027)
- Les Misérables (June 4 – June 27, 2027)
From the offbeat, darkly comedic world of a man-eating plant to the deeply human stories of identity, justice, and redemption, the season reflects a thoughtful balance between entertainment and emotional depth.
The lineup opens with Little Shop of Horrors, the cult-favorite musical known for its blend of humor, horror, and unforgettable music. It is followed by the Southern California regional premiere of the Tony Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen, a modern exploration of connection and belonging in the digital age.
In early 2027, audiences will experience a powerful stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, a story that continues to resonate with themes of justice and moral courage. Spring brings the high-energy musical Hairspray, celebrating change, inclusion, and the irresistible rhythm of the 1960s.
Closing the season is the global phenomenon Les Misérables, a sweeping epic of love, sacrifice, and the enduring human spirit.
Beyond the performances themselves, the theatre continues to offer a full experience for patrons from its inviting lobby and outdoor patio café to the convenience of free parking, reinforcing its reputation as a “home away from home” for the arts community.
Subscription packages for the season are now available, with individual tickets rolling out later this year. As La Mirada continues to invest in arts and culture, this upcoming season stands as a reminder of the power of live theatre not only to entertain, but to bring a community together.
