The La Mirada City Council conducted a reorganization on Tuesday, May 14, following the recent resignation of former Mayor Andrew Sarega. Mayor Pro Tem John Lewis was selected to serve as Mayor for the 2024-25 term. Councilmember Ed Eng was selected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem each serve one-year terms.
Mayor Lewis was first elected to the City Council in 2017 and was re-elected in 2022. He also served as Mayor from 2020-21. Mayor Pro Tem Ed Eng was first elected to the City Council in 2015, and was re-elected in 2020 and 2024. Also serving on the City Council are Steve De Ruse and Anthony Otero, who were re-elected to four-year terms beginning in March 2024.
