Celebrity CBD Products Fuel Growing Wellness Trend Among Older Americans

The wellness industry continues to evolve, and one of the fastest-growing segments remains cannabidiol, better known as CBD. Recently, television personalities Dr. Phil McGraw and Dr. Mehmet Oz drew attention with the promotion of a CBD gummy product aimed at older adults seeking alternatives for everyday aches, pains, stress, and anxiety.

The launch reflects a broader trend that has emerged across the country as many consumers explore natural wellness products as part of their daily routines.

CBD is a compound derived from hemp and is distinct from THC, the psychoactive component associated with marijuana. Because CBD does not produce an intoxicating effect, it has gained popularity among adults looking for products that may support relaxation, recovery, and overall wellness.

Interest in CBD products has grown significantly over the past decade. Today, consumers can find CBD oils, gummies, creams, beverages, and supplements in pharmacies, specialty stores, and online retailers.

Many users report that CBD helps them manage occasional discomfort, promotes relaxation, and supports better sleep. Researchers continue to study its potential applications, though health experts generally recommend that consumers speak with their healthcare providers before beginning any supplement program.

The involvement of well-known public figures such as Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz demonstrates how mainstream the CBD industry has become. Celebrity endorsements often bring increased visibility to products and encourage consumers to learn more about emerging wellness trends.

However, experts also encourage consumers to do their homework. Not all CBD products are created equally. Factors such as ingredient quality, third-party testing, manufacturing standards, and transparency can vary widely between brands.

As with any health-related purchase, consumers are encouraged to research products carefully, review independent information, and consult qualified medical professionals when appropriate.

Whether CBD ultimately becomes a permanent fixture in American wellness culture or simply another chapter in the evolving supplement industry, one thing is certain: interest in alternative wellness options shows no sign of slowing down.

For many consumers, the conversation is no longer whether they have heard of CBD—but whether it might be worth exploring for themselves.
