A new school year marks the beginning of another chapter filled with opportunity, discovery, and growth. As I visit classrooms, attend school events, and connect with students, families, employees, and community members across our District, I am reminded of what makes Norwalk-La Mirada Unified so special: our people.
As we launch into the second half of 2026-27 school year, I have made it a priority to be present on our campuses and connect with those who make our schools thrive. In many of those conversations, I have asked a simple question: How can I better serve you? Whether I am speaking with a student, teacher, office staff member, parent, or community partner, the responses often come back to the same thing: we all want what is best for our students. That shared commitment is what unites us and guides our work each day.

At NLMUSD, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Our role is to create the conditions that make that possible: by providing engaging learning experiences, fostering meaningful partnerships with families, supporting our employees, and ensuring our schools remain safe, welcoming places where all students feel valued and supported.
This year, we will continue to focus on academic excellence, strong family and community engagement, responsible stewardship of resources, professional growth, and student well-being. These priorities reflect our commitment to preparing students for success not only in the classroom, but in college, career, and life.
Our message this year is simple:
One Team. One Vision. All In.

These words reflect who we are as a District and as a community. Together, we will celebrate successes, learn from challenges, support one another, and remain focused on what matters most: providing every student with the opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and all that we will accomplish together for the students and families of Norwalk-La Mirada Unified.
Let’s make it a great year.
