At this year’s La Mirada Mayor’s Community Breakfast, the spirit of service took center stage as community leaders, volunteers, and organizations were recognized for their ongoing commitment to making La Mirada a stronger, more connected city.
Among the morning’s most meaningful moments was the presentation of the Myllie Taylor Community Service Award, one of the city’s highest honors for civic dedication. This year’s recipients reflected the heart of La Mirada:
Michelle Lynch was recognized as the individual honoree, celebrated for her leadership and consistent presence in community-building efforts. Through her work bringing people together and encouraging local engagement, Lynch has become a steady and familiar force in fostering connection across the city.
The La Mirada Arts Colony received the organization award, honoring its long-standing role in enriching the community through arts, creativity, and cultural programming. Their efforts have helped make the arts more accessible while adding depth and vibrancy to La Mirada’s community life.
In addition to these honors, two local organizations were recognized for their continued volunteerism and service:
- Love La Mirada
- Neighborhood Life Church
Each received $1,000 in support of their ongoing community efforts, a reflection of the impact their volunteers make through outreach, service projects, and consistent presence in meeting local needs.
