There’s something about a day on the golf course that makes business feel a little less like
business. On Monday, October 19, the La Mirada Chamber of Commerce is taking over the beautiful California Country Club in Whittier for its Annual Golf Tournament, and this year, there are plenty of reasons to get your foursome together.
Yes, there will be golf. But there will also be contests, prizes, raffles, great food, plenty of
friendly competition and probably a little trash talking between foursomes.
And then there’s the car. Thanks to Norm Reeves Hyundai, one lucky (and very accurate) golfer will have a chance to win a Hyundai Elantra with a hole-in-one. Suddenly that little par 3 is going to feel a whole lot more interesting.
But what really makes this year’s tournament special is who the day will help. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will benefit Domestic Violence Abuse Protection (DVAP), an organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, strengthening families and helping build safer communities. That means every golfer, sponsor and business that participates is helping turn a fun community event into something with a much bigger impact.
And you definitely don’t have to be the next PGA superstar to play.
This tournament is about bringing people together. Bring your coworkers. Bring clients. Bring
friends. Put together the foursome that spends more time laughing than keeping score. Individual golfers are welcome too.
Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m., with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start, followed by an awards dinner
and all the fun that comes with seeing who actually earned bragging rights for the day. Golfers are $200 per player, and sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses that
want to be part of the event and get their name in front of the community.
October may sound like it’s still a way off, but tournament day will be here before we know
it and now is the time to get your group together. So grab your clubs, grab your friends and come spend the day with us.
And if you happen to hit the perfect shot? You might just drive home with more than your golf clubs.
