For many families, homeownership is more than owning a house, it’s about creating stability, building generational wealth, and investing in the future. While the path to buying a home can seem overwhelming, RestoreLA Community Development Corporation (RestoreLA-CDC) is working to make that journey more accessible through education, community partnerships, and personalized guidance.
On Saturday, August 1, at 10:00 a.m., RestoreLA-CDC will host Community Connect: Introducing Restore LA & August Homeownership, a free community meet-and-greet designed to introduce residents to the organization’s Pathway to Homeownership program. The event will take place at: Good Shepherd Church located at 300 N. Monte Vista Street in the city of La Habra.
Community members are invited to stop by, meet the RestoreLA team, and learn about the resources available to help individuals and families prepare for homeownership. Attendees will also receive information about the organization’s upcoming homeownership workshops and have the opportunity to ask questions in an informal setting.
RestoreLA-CDC has already helped more than 50 families achieve the dream of homeownership by providing education, financial literacy, and guidance through every step of the buying process.
Topics typically covered through the organization’s Pathway to Homeownership program include:
- Understanding the home-buying process
- Improving credit and financial readiness
- Budgeting for a home purchase
- Mortgage and loan education
- Available homebuyer assistance programs
- Connecting participants with trusted lending partners and community resources
The Community Connect event is made possible through partnerships with organizations and financial institutions committed to strengthening Southern California communities, including the La Habra Area Chamber of Commerce, La Mirada Community Foundation, Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership, and several regional banking partners.
“Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make,” organizers said. “Our goal is to provide education, resources, and support so families can move forward with confidence.”
