Cerritos College is proving that when a community invests in education, that trust can be honored and then some.
Independent auditors have issued clean audit opinions for both the college’s Measure G and Measure CC bond programs for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. In simple terms, that’s the highest level of financial confidence an institution can receive, confirming that taxpayer dollars are being managed responsibly, transparently, and exactly as promised to voters. What does this mean for the community? It means every dollar from these voter-approved bonds is being carefully tracked, properly spent, and directly benefiting students and the campus.
Measure G: A Vision Completed. The audit confirms that all Measure G funds have been fully and properly used, officially closing out the program with a flawless record. These funds helped transform Cerritos College with major upgrades, including:
- Learning Resource Center modernization
- Culinary Arts and Health Science facilities
- Fine Arts Complex
- Health and Wellness Complex
- Performing Arts Center
- Campus-wide shade structures
These spaces now serve as a foundation for student success, innovation, and modern learning.
Measure CC: Building the Future. The college’s current bond program, Measure CC, is continuing that momentum with strong oversight and no audit findings. Auditors reviewed approximately 60% of expenditures (well above requirements) and confirmed all funds are being used appropriately. Current and future projects include:
- New Student Services & Administration Building (under construction)
- Planned stadium and campus Police Building
- Improvements to Falcon Square and the soccer field
These projects aim to enhance both student life and community engagement.
In addition to responsible spending, Cerritos College secured a lower interest rate during its 2024 bond sale resulting in an estimated $12 million in taxpayer savings. The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee has also reviewed the findings and confirmed the district’s strong financial stewardship. “Accountability doesn’t stop with an audit,” said Committee Chair Dr. Stephanie Rodriguez. “We remain committed to keeping the public informed about how bond funds are spent and the progress of the projects they support.”
In a time when public trust is everything, Cerritos College is setting a powerful example—showing what responsible leadership, transparency, and community partnership truly look like.
