La Mirada City Council Recognizes Public Safety Contest Winners

La Mirada Mayor Pro Tem Andrew Sarega presents Phoenix Munoz a student of Escalona Elementary School, with a certificate of recognition for winning 1st place in her grade category for the annual Public Safety Poster Contest.

The La Mirada City Council recognized the winners of the City’s annual Public Safety Poster Contest at its October 24 City Council meeting. The poster contest promotes safety awareness in La Mirada schools. More than 250 students submitted poster entries highlighting this year’s contest theme, “Be Healthy!  Stay Safe!”

Public Safety Commissioners served as judges and selected first, second and third place winners in each grade category.

Winners are as follow:

Kindergarten and First Grade
