It was a furtastic day at the first annual Bark in the Park held July 15 at Windermere Park in La Mirada. This was a fur-filled day, for dogs and their humans to enjoy fur-friendly activities, crafts, vendors, music for mutts, and fashion show.
The Community Services Department held this new program in celebration of Parks and Recreation month highlighting the community and celebrating La Mirada’s four-legged residents and their families.
Local vendors were invited to participate, such as Jessie’s Dolled Up Doggies a self-sustained mobile grooming service; Rue Pawz puppy treats; the newly opened VCA Animal Hospital and there was plenty of puparazzi for the fashion show, Starbuck even passed our tasty pupachinos.
Bark in the Park has become one of the biggest fur festivals in Los Angeles County. Puppies and their parents can enjoy dog costume contests (big and littlest dog), dog racetracks, dog entertainers, dog agility course, dog cool off zones and water area, and a DIY (do-it-yourself) dog area to create your own dog accessories.
