Meals on Wheels, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization, has been providing Service with Friendship to the residents of La Mirada for the past 50 years.
What began in 1975 with just five clients and five volunteers has grown into a vital community service that has now delivered more than 800,000 meals to over 5,000 La Mirada residents.
Our meals are freshly prepared by Lascari’s Restaurant and delivered by dedicated local volunteers who generously donate their time and fuel to serve their neighbors. For many clients, a Meals on Wheels volunteer may be the only person they see all day making each delivery not just a meal, but a moment of human connection.
