The City of La Mirada held a Volunteer Appreciation Day on Sunday, May 19 in recognition of the efforts of local volunteers for their dedicated service.
Over 500 volunteers and their families enjoyed a day at the City’s Buccaneer Bay Water Park. The festivities included complimentary admission, games, a gift of appreciation, live entertainment and a free Habit burger lunch.
“La Mirada’s volunteers do so much for our community,” says Mayor John Lewis “The Volunteer Appreciation Day gives the City a chance to thank them for all the time and effort they give to making La Mirada an amazing community. Many thanks to all of the City Volunteer groups who do so much for our shining city on a hill.”
Volunteers included those from local schools and churches; youth sport leagues, service clubs, Theatre ushers, and many other organizations.
