On January 12, La Mirada High School held a Winter Rally in their gymnasium during which the president of PLTW Dr. Dave Dimmett presented Moreno with her official award.
Teachers and administrators across PLTW’s network of schools do amazing things every day to impact the lives of their students. Each year, PLTW honors those who have made significant impacts in their classrooms, schools, and communities through the National PLTW Awards. Debra Moreno was chosen from nominations received from across the U.S. and ultimately named the National PLTW Biomedical Science Teacher of the Year for demonstrating a strong record of delivering an inspiring and empowering student experience, expanding access to PLTW programs, and transforming teaching.
