The City of La Mirada joins cities across the nation in celebrating Parks and Recreation Month in July. The community is invited to participate in a variety of special activities the City has planned.
- La Mirada’s Farmers Market Kick-off – July 1.
- Independence Celebration – July 3.
- DJ in the Bay at Splash! – July 4, 11, 18, 25.
- Chalk Art Contest – July 6 at Frontier, Gardenhill, and Windermere Parks 12 to 4 p.m.
- Family Game Night – July 7, 29.
- Movie Night at Windermere Park – July 8, 22.
- Concerts Under the Stars – July 13, 20.
- Let’s Move Mondays – July 10, 17, 24, 31.
- Story Walk at Frontier Park (July 12), Windermere Park (July 19), and Gardenhill Park (July 26).
- Park Olympics at Neff Park – July 14.
- Bark in the Park at Windermere Park – July 15.
- Shake, Rattle, and Roll Dance – July 21.
- Stroll in the Park – July 27.
Since 1985, the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) encourages communities to take part in National Parks and Recreation Month. The theme to this year’s Parks and Recreation Month is “Where Community Grows.” La Mirada Residents are encouraged to have fun and share their La Mirada summer parks and recreation adventures #WhereCommunityGrowsLM</strong..
